Radio Production and Sound Post-production
The Department of Television and Radio offers courses in radio production, radio reporting and sound design post-production that prepare students to work in the field of professional radio and better the audio production quality of their video productions.
Taught by a team of experienced radio professionals, our radio courses teach students to produce a number of different radio formats, including public radio style features, radio news spots, audio documentaries and live radio. Every semester, our students produce radio features that explore a variety of topics, reflecting the diversity of interests in our student body. Some of the student-produced features are published and distributed on the Public Radio Exchange (PRX), where the Department of Television and Radio has an active account.
Students have access to portable radio and audio recording equipment as well as industry-standard digital audio editing tools, such as Pro Tools and Adobe Audition.
The Department of Television and Radio is also the home of Brooklyn College Radio, a three-studio professional facility where students produce free-form daily live shows, streamed live through the Web.
