CISC 7400X Foundations of Cognitive Science

37 hours plus conference and independent work; 3 credits.

Bases for intelligent behavior in humans, animals, and machines. Human and machine intelligence are compared with respect to visual perception, speech perception, language comprehension, learning, and other adaptive mechanisms. This course is the same as Psychology U7753X.

Prerequisite: a course in probability and statistics; and knowledge of a high-level programming language such as C, Pascal, PL/I, or LISP.
