Kopec is interested in understanding human behavior and human problem solving and how knowledge representation can be used to support this. Whether it is chess, artificial intelligence, medical errors, computer science education or failures in complex technological systems, he is interested in how a better understanding of people, their behavior and how what they do and do not know can be used to enhance performance--both by machines and people.
