Come take a tour on the issues of sustainability in Brooklyn!
What is a podwalk?
A podwalk is an interactive walking tour that guides the participant through the various aspects of a site. These podwalks, located on the right panel, help one understand how each location is or is not sustainable. Each podwalk consists of:
- an audio guide detailing sustainability at each stop and guiding one through the site,
- a visual map of the stops,
- and an interactive guide highlighting the main points at each stop and providing tips to engage with the site.
The three podwalks address sustainability problems and initiatives at Brooklyn College, Gowanus Canal, and Brooklyn Bridge Park. They were created by the students of the Fall 2012 Macaulay Honors College Seminar 3: Science and Technology in New York City class at Brooklyn College, under the instruction of Professor Tammy Lewis. Each podwalk focuses on a different aspect within the three pillars of sustainability (environmental, social, and economic).
