Similarities and differences in cultures throughout the area; villagers, nomads, and urban peoples; the role of Islam.

Prerequisite: Anthropology *1000 or 2100 or 1100 or 1200 or 1300 or 1400 or a Pathways required or flexible core course or six credits in social science courses, or permission of the chairperson.
