Physical Education and Exercise Science

Benjamin Johnson is professor and chairman of the Department of Physical Education and Exercise Science. He began his tenure at Brooklyn College in fall 2011, having formerly served on the faculties of Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University in Georgia. At KSU, Johnson was the associate dean for community partnerships and global initiatives in the WellStar College of Health and Human Services and professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Science. He directed the KSU Global Center for Social Change, which had four major divisions, including the International Academy for Disability Rights, International Academy for Women's Leadership and Sport for Health, Development and Peace. At GSU, where he served for more than 21 years, Johnson was the founding director of the GSU Biomechanics and Ergonomics Laboratory.
