Professor O'Keeffe Publishes Book on Soviet History

Congratulations to Professor O'Keeffe on the publication of her book New Soviet Gypsies: Nationality, Performance and Selfhood in the Early Soviet Union (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 2013).

Professor Napoli Publishes Book on Vietnam War Veterans

Congratulations to Professor Philip F. Napoli on the publication of his book Bringing It All Back Home: An Oral History of New York City's Vietnam Veterans (New York: Hill and Wang, 2013).

Professor Banerjee Awarded Year-Long Grant

Congratulations to Professor Swapna Banerjee, who has received a Wolfe Institute Faculty Fellowship for 2013–14 to support her research on parents and children in colonial India.

Lecture on the Jews of Dijon

Professor Robert Weiner of Lafayette College will speak about his new book, An Uncertain Future: Voices of a French Jewish Community, 1940–2012 (University of Toronto Press, 2012) in Professor Troyansky's modern French history class on Thursday, April 11, 11 a.m., 519 Whitehead Hall.

Professor O'Keeffe Wins Award

Professor Brigid O'Keeffe has won the Feliks Gross Endowment Award for her scholarly achievement. She was one of four CUNY faculty to be so honored by the CUNY Academy for the Humanities and Sciences. Her book on the Roma (Gypsies) in the Soviet Union will appear this summer with the University of Toronto Press. This semester she is also a recipient of a Whiting Fellowship.
