Joseph Entin teaches in the English Department and directs the American Studies program at Brooklyn College. He is a co-founder of the Brooklyn College Listening Project (http://bclisteningproject.org/), and also teaches in the Liberal Studies program at the CUNY Graduate Center. He is the author of Sensational Modernism: Experimental Fiction and Photography in Thirties America (University of North Carolina Press, 2007) and co-editor of Controversies in the Classroom: A Radical Teacher Reader (Teachers College Press, 2008). Currently, he is pursuing two primary research projects: one, on representations of working people in U.S. culture in the second half of the 20th century; and a second, on post-1930s documentary photography.
