Areas of Expertise:
As Siegel tells her students, journalists are paid to investigate things that are interesting to them and that they are curious about. Journalism has enabled Siegel to report and write about the Attica prison revolt and the plight of Vietnam veterans, in her early years of reporting, and now more recently about the plight of immigrant students in the schools, the closing of big neighborhood high schools and the history of the Jews in the Caribbean.
