Introduction to the history and interpretation of American popular arts and culture. Popular music, theater, radio, film, television, and advertising. Popular expressions as shapers and reflectors of American ideas about nationalism, class, gender, ethnicity/race, region, and generation. This course is the same as History 3462 [43.18].
Prerequisite: one of the following: English 1010 , or 1.2, or 1.7.
