Myths, legends, tales, proverbs, riddles, songs, dances, beliefs, rituals, celebrations, and folk art of American folk groups. Ethnic, regional, and occupational folklore. The relationship of oral folk culture to popular expression and written literature. Independent work in collecting folklore. This course is the same as American Studies 3402 [66].
Prerequisite: English 1010 [1] or 1.7.
