Tanya Pollard has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Yale University, after studying Classics and English at Magdalen College, Oxford, and English at Yale. She taught at Macalester College and Montclair State University before coming to Brooklyn College. Her books include Drugs and Theater in Early Modern England (Oxford, 2005); Shakespeare's Theater: A Sourcebook (Blackwell, 2004); and Shakespearean Sensations: Experiencing Literature in Early Modern England, co-edited with Katharine Craik (Cambridge, 2013). Pollard has received awards including a Rhodes Scholarship, a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a Whiting Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching. She appeared in conversation with Ethan Hawke in "Shakespeare Uncovered: Ethan Hawke on Macbeth," a documentary that aired on the BBC in 2012 and on PBS in 2013.
