Jason Frydman is Associate Professor of English at Brooklyn College, and former director of the Caribbean Studies interdisciplinary program. He has forthcoming articles on Narco-culture in the Circum-Caribbean and Muslim slave narratives in the Americas. He has written one book, Sounding the Break: African American and Caribbean Routes of World Literature (Virginia, 2014), and published articles on Junot Díaz, Patricia Powell, Zora Neale Hurston, Maryse Condé, Juan Gelman, and Sandra Cisneros.
