Acquisition of the language skills, terminology, and procedures necessary to function in one or more specialized areas where Chinese is routinely used. Designed to familiarize students with common interactions within the professional environment and with problems arising from cross-cultural misunderstandings. Intensive practice in speaking and writing. Reading and discussion of authentic materials related to the topic. May be taken before or concurrently with Chinese 2410 [60.02].
Prerequisite: Chinese 2030 [11.12] or permission of the chairperson.
