An exploration of the major features of contemporary Spain from 1939 to the present with particular attention to developing an understanding of the concepts of cultural identity and difference within the changing European context. Discussions and frequent writing assignments using a variety of approaches and supplementary materials from the Spanish print, broadcast, and electronic media. Field trips to museums and cultural events. May be taken concurrently with or after Spanish *2018 2024, or 2030W.
Prerequisite: Spanish 1030 or permission of the chairperson.
