An exploration of the contemporary Latin American world from 1898 to the present with particular attention to developing an understanding of the concepts of multicultural identity in the Americas. Discussions and frequent writing assignments using a variety of approaches and supplementary materials from the print, broadcast, and electronic media. Field trips to museums and cultural events. May be taken concurrently with or after Spanish *2018 [4.8],2024 or 2030W.
Prerequisite: Spanish 1030 or permission of the chairperson.
