Women and politics in the context of the United States of America. Gaining the right to vote; the Equal Rights Amendment; women as political leaders; racial and ethnic diversity of U.S. women; the "gender gap." Policy issues including the feminization of poverty and social welfare. This course is the same as Women's Studies 3351 [39].
Prerequisite: Core Studies 3 or Core Curriculum 1230 [2.3] or Political Science *1001 [1.51] or 1002 [1.7].
