Department Requirements

An interdisciplinary and social science-based minor in Latin American studies, offered by the Department of Puerto Rican and Latino Studies in collaboration with faculty from other social science departments, requiring 15 advanced credits, each completed with a grade of C or higher.
Puerto Rican and Latino Studies 3210 or Anthropology and Archaeology 3520.
Two of the following:
Puerto Rican and Latino Studies 3205, 3225 or History 3520; Puerto Rican and Latino Studies 4615 (with the approval of the Puerto Rican and Latino Studies chairperson when the topic is relevant to this minor) or 5715.
Two of the following: History 3510, 3512; Political Science 3304; Puerto Rican and Latino Studies 3110, 3115, 3330, 4505.
Courses presented for this minor may not be counted toward the major in any of the participating departments.
At least nine credits must be completed at Brooklyn College. Students should confer with a departmental adviser to plan an appropriate sequence of courses.
