Pauline Bullen holds a tenure track position as assistant professor in the SEEK Department and is affiliate faculty for the women's studies program. She teaches counseling workshop courses that focus on issues of identity, and local and global awareness as well as orientation to college for students who are for the most part the first in their families to access higher education. For the women's studies program, she teaches an Introduction to women studies. Bullen brings 20 years of Canadian experience as an educator at the secondary school level and as a consultant for inclusive education. She has trained parents, students, teachers and administrators on issues of difference based on race, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ability. As a black feminist sociologist and anti-racist educator, her research focus has been on the effects of racism and classism on the lives of black folk and on access, acceptance and mobility.
