Tutoring

Receiving a little extra help when you need it is always a good idea. Tutoring:

  • is not just for those students who are worried about failing a course;
  • helps SEEK students raise their grades from "just passing" to grades of B or even A;
  • reinforces study techniques, time-management skills and test-taking strategies;
  • can help good students become great students; and
  • provides an opportunity to form study groups and to receive individual and small-group instruction.

The SEEK Department offers tutoring in all subjects for SEEK students in four tutoring centers located in Ingersol Hall:

Special Programs offered by SEEK Tutoring Program

English 1 & 2 Supplemental Instruction

All SEEK students enrolled in English 1 and English 2 must participate in a writing workshop group, which meets at least once a week.

CC 1.1 Supplemental Instruction

All SEEK students enrolled in CC 1.1 must participate in a supplemental instruction workshop, which meets at least one hour a week.

CC 2.2 Supplemental Instruction

All SEEK students enrolled in CC 2.3 must participate in a supplemental instruction workshop, which meets at least one hour a week.

CC 2.3 Supplemental Instruction

All SEEK students enrolled in CC 2.3 must participate in a supplemental instruction workshop, which meets at least one hour a week.

CC 3.11 or CC 3.12 Supplemental Instruction

All SEEK students enrolled in SEEK CC 3.11 or 3.12 must participate in supplemental instruction at least one hour a week.

CPE Preparation

All second-year SEEK students must sign up and participate in at least four hours of preparation for the CUNY Proficiency Examination (CPE).
