Naomi Braine joined the faculty in September 2008. Previously, she worked in the nonprofit health and policy research sector, conducting research on HIV risk and prevention, and consulting for community-based organizations and the New York State Department of Health. Her professional work in this area has been informed and shaped by a long history as a social justice activist. Her recent publications include "Neighborhood History as a Factor Shaping Syringe Distribution Networks among Drug Users at a U.S. Syringe Exchange," Social Networks; and "Patterns of Sexual Commerce among Women at U.S. Syringe Exchange Programs," Culture, Health and Sexuality 8.4.
