Professional Leadership
Spearheaded new graduate initiative for Peer Mentorship Program. Serve as faculty adviser for this committee. Program successfully launched in January 2011. Focus is on expanding the social aspect of our program, increasing feeling of relationship, connection and sense of community among the students of different cohorts. Conducted full-day leadership course for the captains and commanders in the Executive Development Department of the NYPD. The course, "A Coaching Approach to Leadership," was based upon a coaching communication style. (Professional Leadership: Public Service) 2009
Conducted two presentations for a new program on empowering women at the Sephardic Center of Brooklyn called Knowledge Needs of Women (Project KNOW). The following is a quotation from the director's feedback on the talks: "In my position at the SCC, I hire numerous speakers on various topics of interest to the members of the community. Created department-wide manual for language lample analysis on the graduate level. The manual is utilized by graduate students to fulfill a department requirement. Compiled clinical resource manual for diagnostic report writing submitted for publication. 2008
Developed and implemented graduate writing lab for writing for professinal writing conjunction with the diagnostics course. Secured Graduate Investment Program funding for professional writing workshop for graduate students enrolled in clinical diagnostic practicum. Completed course as a certified Life Coach. Implementing the basic coaching model when counseling students and providing student assessment. Exploring introducing coaching techniques to faculty and staff. 2008
