Direct Admissions Information — Fall 2015

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be processing freshmen and transfer applications for the fall 2015 semester on campus. Direct admission will run on the following dates:

June 15 – July 9
Mondays and Thursdays: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Students should bring all of their official transcripts from high school and every non-CUNY college or postsecondary institution that they have attended in a sealed envelope, or ask their prior institutions to send their official transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Direct Admissions, 222 West Quad Center, 2900 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will access CUNY college transcript(s) that are indicated on the Pre-Admissions Application Form.

Deadline

All documents must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, to ensure that your application is processed for the fall 2015 semester.

Freshman Applicants

Freshman applicants need to submit the following documents to be processed for admission:

In addition to the above, all students must have fulfilled the CUNY Skills requirements for senior college admission.

Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants need the following documents to be processed for admission:

  • Completed Direct Admissions Pre-Application Form (pdf), which should be sent via e-mail to our office.
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended. (We will be glad to access CUNY college transcripts for applicants who have previously attended CUNY schools. When filing out the Direct Admissions Pre-Application Form, simply indicate the name of the CUNY school and the dates of attendance. For all other transcripts that must be submitted, please request them in advance, as they may take some time to acquire.)
  • Official high school transcript or GED/TASC diploma and scores
  • SAT or ACT scores (required for students who have completed fewer than 12 college credits)

In addition to the above, all students must have fulfilled the CUNY Skills requirements for senior college admission.

Note

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will not be able to admit students to the Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Elevation, Education and Knowledge (SEEK) Program during the Direct Admissions process.

We are also unable to process applications for students who were educated outside of the United States during our Direct Admissions period. Students with foreign documents should file an application online with CUNY, and mail their documents to the University Application Processing Center for review. Information and access to the application for the spring 2016 semester can be found online at the Apply to CUNY website.

Please let the admissions representative know if you have already submitted a Pre-Admissions Application via e-mail or if you filed a CUNY application for the fall 2015 semester to avoid duplicates. Students should submit an application only once.

Admissions Process

Students will be notified when an application is received and/or if the application is incomplete. Once an application is complete, it will take approximately seven to 14 business days to be processed and for a decision to be made.

Financial Aid

Applicants who have not yet filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and plan on receiving financial aid should fill out the FAFSA right away. Additional information is available from FAFSA and TAP.
