Direct Admissions Information — Fall 2014

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be offering prospective students the opportunity to apply for the fall 2014 semester on campus on the following dates:

June 16 – 26 and July 7 – 17
Monday and Thursday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Please complete the Direct Admissions Pre-Application Form (pdf) and send it to us via e-mail. Applications may also be faxed to our offices at 718.951.4506. You must either have the official transcripts sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Brooklyn College or bring the transcripts of all prior institutions to the office in sealed envelopes directly from the Office of the Registrar.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will access CUNY college transcripts that are indicated on the Pre-Admissions Application Form.

Note

All documents must be submitted before Thursday, July 17, at 4 p.m. to ensure that your application is processed for the fall 2014 semester.

Freshman Applicants

Freshman applicants need to submit the following documents to be processed for admission:

  • Completed Direct Admissions Pre-Application Form (pdf)
  • Official high school transcript or GED diploma and scores. (Please request transcripts in advance, as they may take some time to obtain.)
  • SAT or ACT scores

Freshman Admissions Criteria

A minimum CAA (College Admissions Average) of 81 and a minimum combined SAT score of 1000 in Critical Reading and Math are required. In addition, students must have fulfilled the CUNY Skills requirements for senior college admission.

Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants need the following documents to be processed for admission:

  • Completed Direct Admissions Pre-Application Form (pdf)
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended. (We will access CUNY college transcripts for applicants who have enrolled at CUNY schools; simply indicate the name of the CUNY school and the dates of attendance on the Direct Admissions Pre-Application Form. (For all other transcripts, please request in advance, as they may take some time to obtain.)

Transfer applicants with fewer than 30 credits completed must submit:

  • Official high school transcript or GED diploma and scores
  • Official copy of SAT or ACT scores

Transfer Admissions Criteria

  1. Transfer students with fewer than 12 credits completed at the time of application must also fulfill our freshmen requirements and submit their high school documentation as part of the application process. In addition, the student's completed college work must have an a cumulative GPA of at least 2.20.
  2. Transfer students with 12 or more credits completed at the time of application must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.20.
  3. Students who have been awarded an associate's degree from a CUNY community college will be admitted with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. 
  4. Students who have been awarded a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution will be admitted with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00.

In addition, students must have fulfilled the CUNY Skills requirements for senior college admission.

Note

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions cannot determine eligibility for the Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Elevation, Education and Knowledge (SEEK) Program. Students interested in transferring into the SEEK Program must speak to the SEEK Department at 718.951.5931.

Financial Aid

Applicants who have not yet filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and plan on receiving financial aid should fill out the FAFSA right away. Additional information is available from FAFSA and TAP.
