Campus Construction

The following is intended for informational purposes only. Dates and times of campus construction are subject to change without notice. This page will be updated as projects progress.  

Athletic Field

Construction has begun on the new athletic field. The field — which will accommodate regulation soccer and softball — is scheduled to open by the end of spring 2012. Limited parking in the reconfigured lot by the West End Building is now available.

Gershwin Hall

Asbestos abatment has been completed. Demolition has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of the spring 2012 semester.

Hillel Gate

The Hillel Gate entrance to the campus, at Campus Road and Hillel Place, has been replaced with a temporary entrance approximately 50 yards further down Campus Road, immediately after the children's playground by Whitehead Hall. The new Hillel Gate will open in 2014, when construction of the Leonard & Claire Tow Center for the Performing Arts is completed.

Ingersoll Hall

Some interior renovations will be made as we begin upgrading the science facilities.

Ingersoll Hall Extension

The entrance adjacent to the lily pond will be renovated and reopened before fall 2012. In addition, some interior renovations will be made as we begin upgrading the science facilities.

James Hall

The façade facing the West Quad will be completed by March 2012. The new façade will include a main entrance into the building from the West Quad. Entrances from other sides of the building will be turned into fire exits.

Leonard & Claire Tow Center for the Performing Arts

The project is on track for a 2014 opening. Right after the Thanksgiving break, the Hillel Gate will be relocated several yards closer to the east façade of Whitehead Hall.

Roosevelt Hall

The façade facing the West Quad will be completed by March 2012. The new façade will include a main entrance into the building from the West Quad. Entrances from other sides of the building will be turned into fire exits.

Roosevelt Science Teaching Commons

The detailed design phase is under way.

Student Center

The roof replacement continues and is expected to last until the end of January 2012.

West Quad Center

Protective scaffolding and fencing has been installed around specific areas of the building to ensure safety while the university determines the need for any required remedial work to the window panels.

Whitman Hall

Repairs of damaged exterior bricks has been completed. Replacement of the flashing is expected to be completed in spring 2012.
