The physiological requirements and functions of protein, carbohydrates, lipids,
and the vitamins and minerals that are determinants of health and disease in humans; the digestion, metabolism and dietary sources of macronutrients; social, psychological and economic forces which affect nutrition and food choice; analysis of food intake and diet adequacy; discussion of current issues in nutrition.
Prerequisite: Biology 1001 or 1080.
Prerequisite or co-requisite: Biology 1002 or 1081.
