Who We Are

The SEEK Program is the legislatively mandated higher education opportunity program at each of the senior colleges of the City University of New York. Established in 1966, the SEEK program provides special academic, financial, and counseling assistance to students entering college for the first time. SEEK students must satisfy all requirements for graduation set by the college.

Expectations

As a member of the SEEK Program, you will work with a team of staff who will assist you in navigating your college career. This partnership will consist of shared responsibilities that will require you to play an active role. To accomplish this, you will be required to:

  • attend all class meetings for each course you take;
  • meet monthly with your assigned SEEK counselor, and attend weekly tutorial sessions with SEEK academic staff;
  • write/develop your college goals for each semester; and
  • attend monthly seminars.

By joining the SEEK Program you are agreeing to actively engage in each of these activities. Members who fulfill their end of the bargain are more likely to graduate in four years with a strong grade point average and less stress.
