How the Magner Center Can Help Alumni

The Magner Career Center offers Brooklyn College alumni varied services depending on their graduation date.

  • Hire BC: Gain access to Brooklyn College’s online job-posting system via the Career tab of BC WebCentral. If you do not have an account, or graduated before 2004, e-mail Rachel Patterson for further instructions on accessing Hire BC. Note that postings are mostly entry-level.
  • Brooklyn College’s Job Fairs: Alumni can attend our Job Fairs, offered twice a year (typically in October and March). You may e-mail us for further details.
  • Open Q&A Small Group Sessions: Each year, the Office of Alumni Engagement hosts four to six small group virtual sessions with a Magner Career Center career coach. These sessions are open to all alumni. Check out the alumni page for upcoming events  or send them an e-mail.
  • Career Events, Workshops, and Information Sessions: Most events are focused on entry-level roles or internships. Employers hosting the event may have specific requirements for attendance. Generally, these events are for currently enrolled students. If the topic is applicable to alumni and space is available, we will open it up to graduates of Brooklyn College by sending out targeted e-mails, or you may send us an e-mail to inquire.
  • Resources for Résumé and Cover Letter: Alumni can use our résumé/cover letter guide written for students to help them update their documents. While we cannot provide direct one-on-one feedback, alumni can use the public library.
  • Stay Connected With the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Magner Career Center: Follow both offices on Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to learn of events and job opportunities open to alumni. You can find Magner Career Center social media pages here.
