Clarinetist Marianne Gythfeldt has distinguished herself in chamber music, orchestral and contemporary music performance on the international stage.
Recent accomplishments include the 2018 release of her solo CD on New Focus Records, Only Human. "Gythfeldt is setting a new standard for her instrument her"(Anearful Review),
Her career was launched when she won the Naumburg Chamber Music award in 1995 as member of New Millennium Ensemble,
Marianne is especially recognized in the fields of electroacoustic music and chamber music, and she has commissioned many new works for clarinet and ensemble. She is member clarinetist of Zephyros Winds, Talea Ensemble, Collide-O-scope, and SEM Ensemble. She is Associate Professor of clarinet and head of woodwinds at Brooklyn College Conservatory. She won the Delaware Division of the Arts award in 2009, producing a 4-piece commission project of electroacoustic pieces presented at conferences and concert series across the US and Korea.
