Dr. Mary Mallery is the Chief Librarian and Executive Director of Academic Technology at Brooklyn College. Previously, she served as the Associate Dean for Technical Services at Montclair State University Library and as the Assistant Director of the Library at The College of New Jersey. Before becoming a librarian, she worked extensively in programming and systems administration in New York City, and more recently, she worked at the Center for Electronic Texts in the Humanities assisting with the CETH Summer Workshop at Princeton University. Dr. Mallery has also taught graduate courses in Database Design Management as well as Metadata for Information Professionals at Rutgers University School of Communication and Information Sciences.

Abstract:
In comparing and contrasting five international scholarly identification systems (Google Scholar Citations, ORCID, ResearcherID, ISNI, and VIAF) in the new Web-based global scholarly communications market, the author found that the non-profit organization ORCID has emerged as the leading global scholarly ID registry.
