Areas of Expertise:
Renner specializes in early modern literature and culture. Lately, his work in this field has focused on the literature of satire, which underwent major changes in the period, combining Greek, Latin and medieval vernacular traditions into an innovative literary blend that serves as a major element of the cultural, literary and historical landscape of the Renaissance. This work falls into the larger category of early modern poetics, rhetoric and hermeneutics that is at the basis of his interests.
