IN
THE EVENT OF A TRANSIT STRIKE:
Brooklyn College will be open and operating.
Faculty, staff and students are expected to make every effort to come
to the campus in as timely a manner as possible.
FINAL EXAMS
- Final
exams will be held as scheduled, except
that exams scheduled to begin at 8AM will instead be held at 6PM for each
day that there is a strike.
All other exams will remain as originally scheduled. The Registrar’s office is working to identify
rooms for the rescheduled exams. That
information will be posted on the Brooklyn College website and on the five
Emergency Bulletin Boards on campus as soon as it is available.
Students should contact their professors or the appropriate Department

TRANSPORTATION
- Students,
faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to carpool. An electronic bulletin board called BCShare-A-Ride
has been established on the Brooklyn College website where individuals with
vehicles can register
to offer rides to those who need
them. Individuals needing a
ride will be able to search BCShare-A-Ride for
a list of available carpool volunteers and obtain contact information to
arrange for a ride.
- The College will be providing
shuttle bus service from the Atlantic Avenue LIRR station. ALL holders of a City University photo
ID may use the Shuttle; ID must be shown.
Kingsborough Community College will operate a shuttle between Brooklyn
College and the KCC Campus. In addition,
KCC's Shuttle will also pick up passengers utilizing the Ferry which will
be landing at Sheepshead Bay. The ferry will operate between Sheepshead
Bay and Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. KCC's shuttle
will stop at Sheepshead Bay, the KCC Campus and Brooklyn College Bedford
Avenue Overpass.
The
meeting points will be as follows: At Brooklyn College - Meet under the Bedford
Avenue Overpass. At the LIRR - Meet the vans on
Hanson Place and Ashland Place (across the street from the LIRR on the West
Side of the Williamsburgh Savings Bank and Brooklyn Academy of Music). The
vans will run continuously during the day and evening from 5:30AM until 11PM.
PARKING
- Additional emergency parking
will be available for those students,
faculty and staff without parking permits. They will be allowed to park on the perimeter
of the athletic field, entering at the Campus Road and E. 23rd
Street gate. A valid Brooklyn College
ID is required. For those riding
bicycles, additional bike parking will be available at the Hillel gate.
