Transfer Students
Winter Classes for Incoming Transfer Students
For incoming transfer students, taking winter classes is a great way to catch up or stay on track for graduation, especially by fulfilling key prerequisite requirements for your major. It's also the perfect time to enhance and expand your education by exploring needed electives.
Welcome, new transfer students!
This page is designed to assist incoming transfer students with getting acclimated to Brooklyn College. What's listed here are only some of the wonderful resources available to you as a student. You are encouraged to explore the Brooklyn College website further.
Due to the current situation, all advisement for incoming students will be conducted remotely. Advisement sessions will take place over the phone and will be followed up with an e-mail that will detail what was discussed. To make the most out of your initial advisement session, it is important that you adequately prepare beforehand and follow the below steps during your session.
How to Prepare for Your Initial Advisement Session
- Know your major or area of interest.
- Explore major requirements described on the Brooklyn College website.
- Review your Transfer Credit Report via CUNYfirst: Student Center under the dropdown menu on the left side of the page, or review your Transfer Credit Report sent to you by Transfer Evaluations.
- Log in to your DegreeWorks page to view how your transfer courses apply. Use your CUNYfirst username and password to log in and follow these instructions (pdf).
- Explore the Degree Maps for your major to see how your transfer courses align with the recommended plan of study.
