High School Equivalency (HSE/GED)

The Brooklyn College Adult Literacy Program (BCALP) currently has pre-HSE and HSE classes.

New York State is no longer giving the GED® test. TASC™ (Test for Assessing Secondary Completion) is the exam needed to receive a New York State High School Equivalency (NYS HSE) diploma. Many people ask, “Where can I get my GED?” In New York, you earn your diploma (“GED”) by passing the TASC test. The Brooklyn College Adult Literacy Program offers great classes for free to help you do so.

BCALP classes prepare you for all areas of the TASC:

  • Essay/Writing
  • Social Studies
  • Language Arts/Reading
  • Science
  • Mathematics
