Veronica Manlow is assistant professor of business and marketing. She wrote Designing Clothes: Culture and Organization of the Fashion Industry (2007/2009), published by Transaction Publishers. Courses taught include Research Methods, Principles of Marketing Management, Multicultural Marketing, Fashion Marketing and Organizational Behavior. Manlow's research specialization is organizational structure, culture, leadership and the creative process of fashion design and marketing. Courses often include a field component. In conjunction with The Luxury Institute, students evaluate the shopping experience both in luxury stores and on brands' websites. Participating in this project, students gain experience in conducting survey and field-based marketing research. In collaboration with the BID at Brooklyn College students in Principles of Marketing have been studying local businesses and are working in groups on strategies to help the businesses more effectively market themselves.
