Lianhua Chi (candidate, M.Mus., piano) won the conservatory’s 2010 Concerto Competition, organized by Associate Professor George Rothman. She is a student of Professor Adam Kent.

Rothman reports that “we had a robust display of the conservatory’s talents at this year’s Concerto Competition. We also had a sizable audience that appreciated the students’ efforts. The winner of this year’s competition is pianist Lianhua Chi for her reading of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor. In recognition of this accomplishment, she will perform the complete concerto with the orchestra on March 25 at 7 p.m. in Whitman Hall. Winning Honorable Mention was Rémi Burrowes, who performed the Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.
