Undergraduate Academic Levels

An academic level is also known as academic standing. Your academic level is based on the total number of units (credits) completed. For this purpose, completed courses are defined as courses with grades ranging from A+ to D-. A projected academic level is based on the total number of units completed, plus the total number of units currently in progress.

  • Lower Freshman: 0–14.9 credits
  • Upper Freshman: 15–29.9 credits
  • Lower Sophomore: 30–44.9 credits
  • Upper Sophomore: 45–59.9 credits
  • Lower Junior: 60–74.9 credits
  • Upper Junior: 75–89.9 credits
  • Lower Senior: 90–104.9 credits
  • Upper Senior: 105 and more credits
