Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship
If you are interested in becoming a professor and pursuing a research career, committed to diversity as an important part of higher education, and have a GPA of 3.50 or higher in an approved field, you may be eligible to become a Brooklyn College Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow.
The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) program is an upper-division honors program. It is designed to attract highly qualified minority students and others with a demonstrated commitment to eradicating racial disparities who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in specific fields, including anthropology, archaeology, area/cultural/ethnic/gender studies, art history, classics, English, film and media studies, foreign languages and literatures, geography and population studies, history, linguistics, musicology/ethnomusicology/music theory, performance studies, philosophy, political theory, religion/theology, sociology, and theater. The goal of the program is to increase the number of underrepresented minorities on college faculties by supporting minority students of great promise who aspire to academic careers.
