From kinesiology to mental health, Brooklyn College provides a wide array of academic programs and services that promote healthy lifestyles. Our Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences provides a high-quality, multidisciplinary, critical perspective on food, nutrition and community health. Students learn about subjects such as health systems, health and nutrition policy and program development, the social and natural components of health and disease, and health promotion. The program prepares students for rewarding careers in medical health facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes, community centers, public policy, or private practice.

In an age of rising obesity rates, increasing physical activity is among the nation's primary public health objectives. In our kinesiology program, students learn everything from human anatomy to cardiac rehabilitation to the theory and practice of sport, and prepare for careers in education, medicine, physical and occupational therapy, and other health-related professions.
