The use of computing and information technology in organizations and industry. Besides extensive work in database, he has business experience in BIG DATA. Thurm also focuses on the human interaction with the computer system and its impact on the success of that system. Many systems fail due to the lack of an intuitive user interface and proper transition despite the quality of the software. Attention has to be given to the manual interface.

Community Activities
Visited a number of private high schools, advocating enrollment at Brooklyn College and promoting the value of a college education. This activity began in 2009 and continues to today. In 2015 and 2016, I met with several groups of parents interested in the computer science field for their children and Brooklyn College. Recommended several computer science courses and websites to a group of accountants. 2016
Helped develop a computer education curriculum for local religious school pro bono. Give daily classes in adult education pro bono. 2011
