Agnes Ford ’69

Agnes Ford is a retired insurance / reinsurance executive. Upon graduating from Brooklyn College with a major in Education and a minor in English and Speech, she taught for a year and a half in New York City. Ms. Ford then switched to business, first employed at Home Insurance Company in the Yacht Department. She underwrote Ray Kroc of McDonald, and Arthur Levitt of Levittown’s yachts before moving to the All American Marine slip as an Offshore Drilling Rig Underwriter. From there she went to American International Marine Agency as a yacht underwriter then to American International Underwriter Reinsurance Division. Subsequently she moved to Lancer Management to underwrite buses and also as Reinsurance Manager for the Medical Malpractice and Liquor Liability lines of business. Agnes then moved to Guy Carpenter, LLC, the Reinsurance Division of Marsh and McClennan where she served as a reinsurance contract analyst writing contracts for Accident and Health and Property and Casualty contracts. During her career she earned a certificate of Ocean Marine Insurance, an Associate in Reinsurance and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designations. While Ms. Ford is officially retired, she remains very active in her community and serves as President of the Brooklyn College Alumni Association.
