Academic Momentum

Brooklyn College is participating in a CUNY-wide Academic Momentum Initiative. This initiative was created to help students on the path to completing their Brooklyn College undergraduate degrees on a four year schedule. The underlying logic is that getting off to a good start at Brooklyn College is essential for completing the degree in a timely manner. The Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success (CAASS), in collaboration with faculty and other administrative offices on campus, has implemented numerous tools to help our entering students reach a goal of 15 credits in their first semester and 30 credits in their first year.

The reports below track the progress of first time freshmen and entering transfer cohorts towards these goals. The fall 2016-Fall 2017 report has the final credit completion percentages for each stage. The fall 2017-Fall 2018 reports track the progress of the fall 2018 cohort towards these goals, in comparison with the fall 2017 cohorts. This report will be updated periodically (e.g., a new report will be issued when spring enrollment is final, when winter grades are in, etc. This will lead to a final report this fall.
