I have for nearly 30 years been involved in studying nonhuman primates, teaching at the college level, working in museums and promoting interest in evolutionary biology and anthropology. This has taken me to a number of countries in South and Central America, studying the behavior and ecology of monkeys in the forest and also looking for their fossils. My primary teaching positions have been at Brooklyn College, the City University of New York Graduate Center, the New York Consortium on Evolutionary Primatology (NYCEP), and the University of Illinois at Chicago. I also held a variety of research and education outreach positions at the Smithsonian Institution, primarily at the National Zoological Park and the National Museum of Natural History.
Education: DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY, CITY UNIVERSITY - 1979 (ANTHROPOLOGY) B.A., CITY COLLEGE OF NEW YORK - 1972 (ANTHROPOLOGY) Areas of Expertise: I am a biological anthropologist interested in the evolution of nonhuman primates. My main research foci deal with the evolution of South and Central American Monkeys and the origins of higher primates. My colleagues and I have an active field program looking for fossils in Southern Argentina. Books and Publications Rosenberger, A.L., M.F. Tejedor, S. Cooke, L. Halenar and Stephen Pekkar.
