I am from San Jose, Costa Rica. After a long route via mathematics, statistics, and an interest in literature, I decided to teach and write philosophy. Outside school, I enjoy traveling, listening to live music, playing futbol (soccer), and snorkeling. All of these interests are at the core of what I do in philosophy.

Education:
Doctor of Philosophy, Penn State University - 2005 (Philosophy)

Master of Arts, Penn State University - 2002 (Philosophy)

Master of Arts, Penn State University - 1996 (Statistics)

Bachelor of Arts, Harding University - 1994 (Mathematics)

Areas of Expertise:
I am interested in studying the role that creativity plays in human endeavor. Because I am a mathematician by training, I concentrate on writing about the role that the creative imagination plays in mathematical reasoning. But I am also interested in creativity in science, art, the practice of sport, and in the development of one's own personality.
