Her recent work on the home foreclosure crisis has appeared in the Journal of Urban Affairs, City & Community, and Housing Policy Debate. Her first book, Housing America: Issues and Debates, explores why housing remains among the U.S.'s most enduring social problems.

At Brooklyn College, she teaches courses in urban sociology, quantitative methods and social problems. Her courses facilitate students' engagement with New York's rich local data and case studies.
