Gary Testa
Associate Professor
Accounting
Gary Testa is a professor of accounting and taxation. He is licensed as a CPA in New York. While in college he held a series of part-time jobs working in the tax field, eventually becoming "hooked" on taxes. After graduating, he pursued an M.B.A. in taxation and landed a job at a "Big Eight" firm. He spent three years in the tax departments of big firms, rising to the level of senior tax accountant. He decided to pursue an academic career in 1979 and has been at Brooklyn College ever since. His teaching interests are in the areas of taxation and financial accounting. His research is principally in the tax area, especially individual taxation. He also has an interest in professional ethics and quality control in tax practice. He has published several articles in national tax journals.
