Areas of Expertise:
Ness' research focuses on labor, migration, and social mobilizations and the political history of labor in the U.S. and Global South. He has published on precarious labor, new forms of worker organization and migration. His recent projects include studies on labor, migration, and the state security apparatus that governs working-class movements and organization. He uses historical, comparative, archival and ethnographic extended case histories, and co-research methods.
