Janet Grommet is a clinical nutrition researcher focusing on improvement in the effectiveness of nutrition services, particularly chronic disease management with emphasis on diabetes and renal disease. Current work in phosphorus management in individuals with chronic renal disease undergoing hemodialysis treatment. College teaching in areas of medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling and research seminars as well as mentoring of undergraduate and graduate student research. Program management including accredited nutrition programs and academic departments within City University of New York and elsewhere; ambulatory care units affiliated with urban medical centers; and extramural grant program associated with National Institutes of Health.
