Education:
Post-doctoral Fellow, The Rockefeller University - 2008 (Yeast Genetics)
Ph.D., Albert Einstein College of Medicine - 2003 (Cell Biology)
Areas of Expertise:
The cell cycle is an ordered set of processes by which one cell grows and divides into two daughter cells. Cell cycle progression is driven by Cyclin-Cdk complexes. We recently discovered that Cyclin-Cdk and GSK-3 kinases control DNA replication in yeast. Ikui's research studies how DNA replication is controlled in order to maintain genome integrity.
