Jennifer Adams

Jennifer Adams is an associate professor of science education at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center. Her research focuses on informal science learning with an emphasis on the places people learn science. Adams has worked as an educator and researcher in New York City public schools and the American Museum of Natural History. Travel is one of her passions, and her journeys have provided her a lens to explore sense of place and place-based education for students of the Caribbean diaspora in Brooklyn through autobiographical and ethnographic research where she draws on cultural geography, sociocultural theory, Caribbean studies and environmental thought to inform her work.
