SEED 3001 Anatomy and Physiology for Physical Education
3 hours lecture, 2 hours lab; 4 credits
This course provides an examination of the structure and function of the major body systems, with emphasis on the muscular, skeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. It introduces basic concepts in understanding of the chemical, cellular and tissue levels of structural organization, and explores the nervous, endocrine, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. The course must be taken by majors in Physical Education Teacher Education and requires a minimum grade of C. It does not serve as a substitute for those needing Anatomy & Physiology as a pre-requisite for Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, etc. Students should consult with their advisors for clarification.
Prerequisites: Declared Physical Education major, Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
